In January 2016, Seven students from the three fields at Yonsei University's Underwood International College embarked on a week-long study tour to Melbourne, Australia, as part of a collaborative project between Design Factory Korea, Swinburne Design Factory, and Cisco.

The project, entitled "Exploring Online Communication Platforms in Educational Environment: A Case Study of Cisco's Spark Application," challenged students to conduct research and development, market and competitor analysis, and application assessment — all within the span of one week. Working in teams and facilitated by coaches from both Korea and Melbourne, students experienced the Design Factory culture and methodology firsthand in an international setting.

Preparation for the tour began well before departure, with a pre-workshop held at DFK and Cisco's Global Center of Excellence headquarters, both located in Songdo. After arriving in Melbourne, the project officially kicked off at Swinburne Design Factory with Cisco and coaches from both institutions. The study tour was made possible through the close connections forged within the Design Factory Global Network (DFGN).
