In January 2016, Design Factory Korea hosted a two-day bootcamp for approximately 20 junior high school students at the DFK Protoshop — bringing the design thinking methodology to the next generation of creative thinkers.
Over the course of two days, participants were introduced to the full product development process through hands-on activities. Students worked in teams to identify problems, develop ideas, sketch concepts, and build physical prototypes using a wide range of materials. The program culminated in team presentations, where students showcased their ideas and prototypes to their peers and parents.
What made the bootcamp particularly special was the tools students had access to — including 3D printers, giving them a taste of real-world product development in a professional creative space. Throughout the process, DFK coaches and facilitators guided participants through each stage, making design thinking approachable and fun for young learners.
